The requirements for reliable screw assembly in industrial production have grown steadily over the past few years, as the functionality of the end product must be guaranteed for its entire service life in the face of ever-increasing miniaturization, component complexity and a variety of material combinations. The premise here is usually also the demand for continuous cost optimization and increased efficiency.
Tightening tool processes that are difficult to control with little “leeway” between a loose screw (without clamping force) and the destruction of the screw connection (e.g. due to overtightening) can be brought under control by programming a sequence of different tightening tool stages. Workpieces with insufficient quality cause tightening tool errors, which are reliably detected by the multiple overlapping parameter windows within the tightening tool stage sequence. This prevents NOK parts from entering circulation (zero-defect production).
Hand-held sensor tightening tool systems are optimized for manual industrial assembly. The NG-TDH(Q) handheld tightening tool systems are also equipped with an integrated torque/angle of rotation sensor system. The sensitivity of the sensor system ensures that every screw is tightened in compliance with the correct parameters, whereby the superimposition of different measuring windows achieves maximum process reliability. With appropriate parameterization, this eliminates screw tightening errors and ensures the quality of the end products.
The integration of these sensors makes them both precise and intelligent measuring systems. They are also ideally suited for screw joint analysis to ensure that your tightening tool processes meet the highest quality standards in the run-up to production.
The adaptive tightening tool strategies with a multi-stage tightening tool step sequence are used to compensate for fluctuations in the head contact torque when tightening thread-forming screws in order to ensure constant clamping force ratios (not only) for critical screw connections.
The connection of the intelligent tightening tool units to a process data management system ensures complete traceability of the tightening tool quality of the goods produced.
The NG-TDHQ systems are designed for precise measurement of torque and angle of rotation at low speed and are therefore ideal for measuring and adjustment processes. They are otherwise functionally identical to the NG-TDH systems.
The manual tightening tool systems can be modularly extended by:
· Barcode reader for the identification of workpieces and sequence programs
· The n-quirer TD advanced user guidance control software
· The NG-BPC bit selector box
· A linear arm NG-LAP400 with position monitoring
With these modules, a manual tightening tool system can be expanded in such a way that it is in no way inferior to an automated solution (tightening tool cell) in terms of process reliability.
